European Parliament resolution on the human rights situation in Crimea, in particular of the Crimean 26 Tatars (2016/2556(RSP) Date of adoption: February 4, 2016 Content: The European Parliament has once again stressed that the annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by the Russian Federation violates international law, including the UN Charter, the Helsinki Final Act, the Budapest Memorandum and the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership between Ukraine and the Russian Federa- tion. The European Parliament condemns the militarization of the Crimean peninsula and calls on the Russian Federation to withdraw its troops from Crimea and Eastern Ukraine.
