CHARITIES At the Jamaica Independence Gala New York, we are committed to supporting important charitable causes that make a difference in our community. This year, our focus is on: • Scholarships for Tertiary Education: We aim to provide a minimum of 30 scholarships to students pursuing higher education, empowering them to achieve their academic and career goals. • Medical Equipment: We are dedicated to purchasing pacemakers for young children in need. This will provide support to young children who require critical medical care and help improve their quality of life. • Community Development: We will be supporting the following organizations: • The YB Afraid Foundation, established by Yohan Blake to lend financial support to children’s homes. • Rose Town Foundation, a local organization dedicated to improving the lives of residents in underserved communities. • Enos Barrett Centre for rehabilitation, a facility for young persons living with disabilities in Linstead. 7

LAST YEAR'S OUTCOMES At last year’s event, the Jamaica 60 Diamond Jubilee Gala, we had over 700 participants and raised funds that made a significant impact: • $40,000 provided scholarships for 16 students, giving them the opportunity continue their education at the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE), Sam Sharpe Teachers College, University of Technology (UTECH) and University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona. • $27,000 supported medical care for burn victim Adrianna Laing, making a positive impact on her recovery journey. • $5,000 was allocated towards the Rose Town Foundation, supporting their community development efforts. • $19,000 was approved for the purchase of a dialysis machine, providing crucial medical equipment for those in need. 8
