Nikhil Basu Trivedi #47 Cofounder and general partner, Footwork Nikhil Basu Trivedi’s firm Footwork is only a year old, but it’s already vaulted into the upper echelons of early-stage venture firms, leading seed rounds for the likes of Table22 and Cradlewise, a smart-crib startup. The firm focuses on consumer tech and the “consumerization of enterprise technology,” which means lots of deals in companies powering the future of work. One such company, Canva, could give the investor a big return. Backed by Basu Trivedi in 2014, the design firm announced in September that it had raised $200 million in funding at a $40 billion valuation. Basu Trivedi previously climbed the ranks at Shasta Ventures, where he was made managing director in 2018. He began his career as an early hire at Artsy, the $275 million online art marketplace.
