Lauren DeLuca #57 Founder and managing partner, Motivate Venture Capital Lauren DeLuca is a serial entrepreneur turned investor in Chicago, where he invests in exceptional founders in the Midwest and beyond. He also runs a boutique firm called Motivate Venture Capital, which he founded in 2019 with his business partner (and fellow Notre Dame graduate) David Wieland. DeLuca said the pair’s portfolio, combining personal investments and Motivate’s positions, has a total market cap surpassing $32 billion. One of his investments, the fintech darling Chime, was last valued at $25 billion, which makes it one of the most valuable startups in the US. Before diving into VC, DeLuca co-founded two tech companies with exits: Oxford Intelligence Partners, a market-intelligence firm that Q4 bought, and Victory Networks, a provider of high-speed networks for banks that QuantHouse acquired.
