Jenny Lefcourt #74 General partner, Freestyle Jenny Lefcourt was once a disillusioned accountant. After a year of wanderlust, she ended up in Silicon Valley, where she joined a software company in the mid-1990s, launched its internet division, and became hooked on the industry. After founding several companies, including WeddingChannel.com, Lefcourt began investing in startups, including Discord, now worth $15 billion. As a partner at Freestyle, she’s backed BetterUp and Embark, which last year raised a $75 million round led by SoftBank that valued the company at $700 million. Lefcourt works closely with founders at the earliest stages of their companies, she says, and then serves as a “trusted advisor” once they’ve raised Series A funding. She looks for resilient founders who can inspire others with their company’s purpose and build a strong team. She said, “Founders are faced daily with issues they have never faced before, so they need to be unafraid to seek wisdom, learn, and trust that they can figure it out.” Source: businessInsider
