Alex Finkelstein #78 Cofounder and general partner, Spark Capital Alex Finkelstein co-founded Spark Capital in 2005 and has been at the firm ever since. Still, he can relate to the experience of startup founders who’ve heard endless noes from investors. After starting his career in venture capital, first at Cambridge Associates and then at SoftBank, Finkelstein briefly stepped away to write original television shows. The first time he tried to pitch a show, he cold-called more than 700 people, but he didn’t find a taker for 18 months, he wrote in a live chat on Product Hunt in 2017. “I really learned about persistent, hard work, and that you can accomplish a lot at a young age,” he said. At Spark, Finkelstein has invested in companies such as Talkspace, which went public in June, and Mark43, which has raised a total of $257 million. Source: businessInsider
