Chapter 3: Mobile Personal Content Uncovered So far we have learned that mobility, instantaneous use, and comput- ing regardless of the time and place, are currently prevailing trends in many walks of life. Mobility brings new, spontaneous aspects to our life, changing many patterns of our daily behaviour. Instead of sending a map describing a route to our newly purchased home, we agree with the fi rst-time visitor that they give us a call when exiting the highway, and the instructions are then given in real-time. This decreasing need to pre-plan activities is one of the most characteristic aspects of mobil- ity. It brings along an expectation of content-on-demand: getting access to any required information whenever the information is needed, instead of only when it can be obtained.
