132 You Have a Book in You Find a Pitch Partner Most writers do not speak about their work easily. In the movie business, it is the producer’s job to pitch the writ- er’s work or idea to a production company or network, not the writer’s. 吀栀e writer usually attends the pitch meet- ing but does not say much. Why? Writers, by nature, are mostly introverts. (Zig Ziglar, an introvert, claimed that he trained himself to become an extrovert on stage only.) 吀栀ey do not summon much of the natural enthusiasm that comes so easily for extroverts. Now it the time to throw your arm around that person and say, “Hey, how would you like to talk to so- and- so for me?” And you make it worth their while to get out there and toot your horn.
