The term is derived from nava (Sanskrit: नव "nine") and graha (Sanskrit: Āह "planet, seizing, laying hold of, holding"). Note that the Earth, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are not included in the Navagraha. However, Sun is part of the Navagraha.
