Brian Matthews #14 General partner, Cultivation Capital Brian Matthews became known in tech for co-founding the fantasy-sports company CDM Sports in 1991, which Fun Technologies acquired in 2006 for about $10million. Matthews, who left CDM in 2010, has run the early-stage fund Cultivation Capital since 2012 and is one of the most successful seed investors outside of coastal hubs like Silicon Valley or New York City. He led his fund’s investment in the hotel-management software startup Cloudbeds, which raised a $150 million round in November.
