Founder and general partner, Cantos Ventures

Ian Rountree #6 Founder and general partner, Cantos Ventures Ian Rountree founded Cantos Ventures in 2016, with a focus on next-generation tech related to climate science, biology, aerospace, health, and decentralized finance. New to the list, Rountree first made his mark during his time as a director of partnerships at SoFi. That job led him to connections with startup founders and motivated him to invest about $120,000 in startups over four years before he launched his own firm. “Ultimately, I realized that nothing has the speed, scale, and positive feedback of solving problems with cash flow,” he said. In 2021, Cantos invested in six startups — four were founded by women — and saw two startup exits: Collider Tech, a 3D-printing company that Essentium acquired, and the life-sciences platform Legit, which Clora acquired. Terms of both deals were not disclosed. Also read: How Ian Rountree bet $120,000 of his life savings on startups and became one of the nation's top seed investors Source: businessInsider
