Sam Lessin #62 General partner, Slow Ventures; cofounder, Fin After Sam Lessin turned in his badge at Facebook, where he was an early product manager, he went to work with some familiar faces in 2015: He joined Slow Ventures, an early-stage investing firm started by his former colleagues Kevin Colleran and Dave Morin. He calls himself a “hardcore generalist,” with investments in areas such as crypto and pet tech, including Solana Labs, an ethereum competitor that has a market capitalization of $45 billion, and Embark, a “soonicorn” that provides genetic tests for dogs and landed a $700 million valuation in July. Lessin is also a cofounder of Fin, a software firm that helps companies track employee performance, and a prolific writer, with bylines in The Information, a business publication founded by his wife, Jessica Lessin.
