RFG Wealth Advisory - Team News We are now in the middle part of the summer. Both Chris Robinson Chris Robinson my older sons have gone back to college. Henry is at Texas Tech and will be a senior this year. Jacob is playing football at Tyler Jr College and will be a July 2024 sophomore. It is always a sad day when they head back to school. The house gets a lot quieter. Ben will be a junior at Argyle High School this fall. He keeps us entertained when the older boys leave! Molly will be in 8th grade at Argyle Middle School. I do not look forward to the Texas heat. As I age, I like it less and less. I try not to wish the summer to end too quickly; that will Chris’ Quote of the Day happen anyway. We took a family vacation to the Florida Keys in late May. We flew into Miami and drove the rest of the way through the different Keys. The highlights for me were visiting Hemmingway’s house, which is now a museum, and going on a fishing trip with my sons. The Hemmingway Museum is a special place. Being in the same place where many of his best novels were written was inspiring. The fishing trip also turned out special. We had a guide named Bear, who happened to be from Texas. Bear told us we were in the Keys on one of the best days of the year if you want to catch a Tarpon, which “was” on my bucket list. We started off fishing for Permit. We went 6 After our fill of Permit fishing, Bear told us it’s time to miles out to Bear’s “Honey Hole!” The water turned go after my bucket list fish, the Tarpon. Attending my Grandma's 85th birthday JD Crowder JD Crowder party was a heartwarming experience filled with love and nostalgia. The party was held in her cozy, charming backyard, reflecting the celebration of her rich life. The air was filled with sweet melodies of old tunes she adored, softly playing in the background. The barn was very decorated, and we had multiple games set up, from cornhole to golf, creating a warm ambiance that complemented the gathering's intimate feel. The highlight of the day was witnessing Grandma's joy as she greeted each guest with a sparkle in her eyes and genuine warmth. In June, my husband and I had the privilege Susan Dawson of traveling to South Africa and I’d like to take you on a lion photo safari adventure. Join us at Mala Mala Game Reserve, 32,000 acres in the South African bush. Upon arrival, we meet the camp manager, Loraine, and Adam, our safari guide for the next four days. Adam appears to be in his 30s yet very capable of guiding an inexperienced group of Americans on a photo safari. We began to comprehend the close encounters we were about to have with wildlife. He explained the animals are not afraid of vehicles, even giant Range Rovers. For several hundred years, this camp has been a no-hunt camp, so the native animals no longer perceive a vehicle as a threat. We would drive within a few yards of many of the animals we encountered. Emilio Gonzalez The heat is on! Not so much the summer heat but the pressure to get our home completed. We are getting down to the nitty-gritty; just a few weeks away, and we will be able to move in. I can't believe it has been over a year and a half since our house burned down, but we are so excited to start a new chapter in our new forever home. If you have ever built a house, you know the struggles; if you have never been the General Contractor…DON’T!!!! It is not for the faint of heart. But seriously, it has been challenging but fun at the same time. It is exciting to see the vision we drew on the proverbial napkin come to fruition. We have over 2200 square feet of wrap-a-round porch (great for sippin’ Speaking of the sun, I continue my mantra, “Earn the “something” no matter the wind Sunrise”, a quote from former Navy Seal Commander direction) and a 10x10 back deck where Jocko Willink. While walking west, I hit the 1.5 or 2-mile mark, make a dramatic U-turn (just to be silly), and head back east. At this point, the sun is peaking over the horizon, and I say “Well good mornin’, where you been??? I love this alone time in the morning; it gives me an opportunity to reflect on how grateful I am for my family, my friends, and honestly, to be able to breathe deeply (which I do a lot of on these long hikes).

So, with building the house and work, there has not been much time for much of anything else. However, I always have time for my cutie pie, Mia!!! She is growing so fast and has taken to the pool like a frog to water… literally! She tries to swim like a frog! Sharon and I are still in the honeymoon phase of being grandparents…I am not sure that ever ends!!! Sharon gets to watch Mia this summer while Olivia starts her Doctorate program at UNT for Physical Therapy. Yes, I am jealous!!! I also finally made my first fishing trip of the summer. Mateo, Kody (my Son-in-law), and I trekked out to Lake Bois D’ Arc, the newest lake in Texas. We went fishing, not catching. Lake Bois D’ Arc -1, Emilio -0. I WILL get my revenge!!! Mateo has been working hard at summer workouts getting prepared for his junior year of football. We are looking forward to a fun season…it is just around the corner. Because of goings-on, we canceled our summer vacation, but I explained to Sharon that we would soon be in our new home by the pool, and we could act like we were at a VRBO somewhere…Do you think that will work? I’ll let you know next time! Meanwhile, enjoy the rest of your summer and know, when I count my blessings, you are one of them!!!

We recently celebrated both Kylie (17) and Emily's (13) birthdays, which brought a lot of joy and laughter into our home. Emily's 13th birthday was particularly special as we took a memorable trip to Broken Bow. We had an absolute blast exploring the area and creating wonderful memories together. It's hard to believe that all three of our daughters —Kylie (17), Addison (15), and Emily (13) —are now officially teenagers!

While there were three shark attacks in other areas of Florida that weekend, thankfully, we were spared. However, Sarah did decide to flip off of the boat during one of our excursions, and the water was not as deep as she thought, resulting in her cutting her foot on a rock at the bottom of the ocean, causing her to bleed a little bit. So, it’s fair to say we gave the sharks their opportunity!
