WELCOME TO noRtH sMItHFIelD From hills to fields, North Smithfield is a town dotted with historic districts, an iconic village green, and some rare family fun that proudly straddles its agricultural and industrial past. A key attraction in town is slatersville. It’s the site of America’s first planned mill village and is part of the blackstone river Valley national historical park because of the tremendous impact it had on our society. The beautiful stone mill circa 1826 and surrounding mill buildings still stand, and though they’re now loft apartments, you can still walk the grounds to feel the important history that took place here along the branch river. Across the street is Slatersville’s quaint village green complete with a row of historic homes and a quintessential New England church, slatersville Congregational Church. goodwin Bros.
