This small shop is full of flavor including their popular Rhode Island red pizza strips (also known as party pizza or bakery pizza), plus calzones, hot slices and more. If you’re looking for a sitdown meal and possibly a scare, stop by Tavern on Main. Originally built in the early 1700s, this building has had several uses over the years. Today it’s a well-known family restaurant and it’s thought to be haunted. Stop in during your visit for some of their seafood and pasta specialties. Exploring outside this hub of shopping and dining, you’ll find more than a dozen hiking sites managed by the glocester Land Trust as well as the george Washington Management area and pulaski state park. Old Stone Antique mill Bring your tents as there are a couple of options to camp along bowdish Lake and enjoy a glocester getaway. We recommend a walk around hawkins pond and steere hill Farm, but each hiking site definitely has its own character and all are worth exploring. For something different, head over to the village of Harmony to board the small-scale train at harmony products and railway for a beautiful half-mile ride through their picturesque property or bring your clubs to hit the links at Melody hill Country Club. glocester also does an amazing job celebrating holidays, so if you find yourself in the area in October, make a point to see the annual scarecrow Festival. do some Candlelight shopping in december or enjoy one of the most unique parades you’ll ever see on july Fourth at the town’s annual ancients & horribles parade.
