Write a GREAT Book! 49 Jillian Manus, my phenomenal literary agent, sug- gests having a title party. Invite your wisest and smart- est friends over for a barbecue, wine, and great thinking. Tell them in advance that they have been selected to help you create extraordinary best- selling titles that you will be writing into history. Great friends love to help, inspire, and contribute to your ever greater successes. Build Up Your Life outside of Your Work Regardless of its topic, your book is who you are. If you’re doing nothing, being nothing, and having nothing in your life, why would anyone want to read your book? Don’t expect your book to be your life. Have a life before you write your book. Otherwise a desperate qual- ity will creep into your writing, and that’s something you don’t want. Personally, I became a mountain climber four years ago and have climbed, or climbed on, Mount Whit- ney, Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Fuji, and Machu Picchu. I promise this makes for great storytelling, and I will include these stories in my forthcoming autobiography, entitled Mark on Mark! Remember that you need a great title. What is its real function? Remember that the title is the door to the home called your book. Doors provide easy access to a home: no one except a thief wants to come in through the window.
