Nesbit Park Drive Harvey Clay Nesbit Park is a 40-acre park located in the northwest quadrant of town. It offers residents parking areas, baseball fields, softball fields, multi-purpose fields, lighted fields and picnic tables. The park is easily accessible from Kensington Drive. The park, itself, is adjacent to Kensington Elementary School and the residential community of Millbridge. Based on current plans, the park will eventually be bounded on two sides by the Carolina Thread Trail. Located behind Barnes Park and our Skate Park, this new park offers a blend of natural beauty and modern amenities. Dare Steele Memorial Garden Intersection of South Providence Street & McKibben Street, Downtown Pocket Park featuring beautiful roses and a contemplation area. The garden was named after Waxhaw's beloved history teacher, Dare Steele. Ms. Steele authored the play "Listen and Remember." Waxhaw Sk8 Park 209 West South Main St. or Caldwell Street, Downtown Waxhaw The Waxhaw Sk8 Park contains a half-pipe, quarter-pipe, decking, rails, ramps, a bowl and more! Freestyle bikes are not permitted except during freestyle bike events hosted by the Town of Waxhaw. We have recently added new shades and soon will have an ADA picnic table with an umbrella and standard picnic table with an umbrella. There is video surveillance on-site. David G. Barnes Children's Park 209 West South Main Street, Downtown Waxhaw The David G. Barnes Children's Park is a one acre neighborhood park featuring playgrounds for toddler and school-aged children, restrooms, video surveillance, a small picnic shelter, green space, benches and foliage. The park is located adjacent to Waxhaw's historic downtown and right down from our local friendly businesses! Greenways and Trails Town Creek Park: 4240 Waxhaw-Marvin Road, Waxhaw Harvey Clay Nesbit Park: 1304 H.C. Nesbit Park Drive, Waxhaw Greenways and trails are natural or landscaped corridors for pedestrian or bicycle passage and a connector linking parks, nature reserves, cultural features, or historic sites. Waxhaw is home to the Carolina Thread Trail's signature Cross-State Suspension Bridge, a 170 foot long suspension bridge connecting the North and South Carolina trails. Planned soon is a future connection from the Harvey Clay Nesbit Sports Park to the back of the Town Creek Park trailhead that leads to the continuation of the Carolina Thread Trail through the Prescot community.
