Science and Engineering Society and the Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science—to build relationships with tribal colleges throughout the United States. The council also works with IBM SkillsBuild (previously known as Open P-TECH®) and similar organizations to increase awareness in indigenous communities of STEM careers and to support the growth of talent from these communities throughout IBM. In 2022, our focus is signature hiring events with job flexibility on location and retention programs. Native American US Native American representation showed positive trends in hiring in 2021; however, attrition impacted gains made in hiring and promotion. Our focus is to continue to close the gap across all representation categories with focus on hiring initiatives with our community partners and retention programs (e.g., sponsorship, mentoring and career development).
