43 Addressing unique LGBTQ community needs For members of the LGBTQ community, financial planning needs, from the simple to the complex, can come with a unique set of challenges . These include credit issues for same-sex partners, adoption by same-sex couples, tax implications, savings plans, elder care, long- term retirement savings, or name changes due to gender reassignment . In the U .S ., we’re proud to offer this community access to professionals who are specifically trained to understand the complex financial needs of LGBTQ couples and individuals . We’ve been at the forefront of our industry’s efforts to meet those needs for more than a decade . Our LGBTQ Resource Center provides valuable information, from everyday banking to starting a new business . While the U .S . Supreme Court has extended marriage rights and employment protections to individuals within the LGBTQ community, the absence of other federal protections has the potential to impact their financial well-being . To address the financial needs and considerations of domestic partners, some Wells Fargo Advisors have been trained on key issues affecting domestic partners and are dedicated to providing tailored investment-planning solutions .
