Choose who gets in, and for how long

Send deal documents, investor materials and benefits guides as links you control. Secure document sharing gives your security team single sign-on and a list of everyone with access.

RELAYTO’s share settings on a laptop: Arlo’s report “The State of Food Distribution 2027” set to “Require email to view”, with company name, full name and email authentication required. Beside it, on a phone, what the reader meets: “Verify your email to access this experience”, asking for their email, name and company before an access code is sent.

Six ways to share, as readers see them

Six ways to share, as readers see them

To share confidential documents, give each one, or a hub of several, a way in. Behind any of the three checks (password, invitation or one-time email code), readers see nothing until they pass.

You set

They see

For the annual report and the guides you want found. Anyone can open it, and search engines can list it.

You set

They see

For a guide you send to your own people. Anyone with the link can open it, and it is never listed or searchable.

You set

They see

For a report you trade for a lead. It collects readers’ email, name and company, and keeps no one out until you add a one-time email code. Or put a form inside the report

You set

They see

For partners and clients. Only people at the domains or addresses you approve get in, after a one-time code sent to their inbox.

You set

They see

For a board pack or a one-off review. The link opens only with the password you send separately.

You set

They see

For due diligence. Only people you invite get in, after signing in, and each can have their own end date. Build a data room in Hubs

Invite named people, with access that expires

Add the people who need a private document or hub by email, and give each a role. Anyone you remove loses access at once.

  • Four roles

Can edit, can view analytics, can view, or can’t access.

  • An end date each

Access stops on the day you set, person by person.

  • A note with the invitation

Notify them by email, with a message of your own.

“The best feature has been the ability to track when a prospect accessed our proposal and forwarded it on.”

Still yours after you send it

Replace the PDF, go back to an earlier version, turn off downloads or close access after you have sent it. Your readers keep the same link.

  1. Replace the PDF; the link and its settings stay.
  2. Who saved each version, and when; click one to go back to it.
  3. Downloads and sharing by visitors, each on or off.

Each person on your team can add a six-digit code from an authenticator app.

Set the rules once, then share

Your domain, sign-in and team are set once for the whole workspace. After that, sharing a document means choosing its way in.

  1. Step 1

    Your domain and brand

A RELAYTO subdomain or your own domain, with your logo and colours.

  2. Step 2

    Your sign-in and team

Connect single sign-on, then invite your team with the role each needs.

  3. Step 3

A way in for each document

Public, unlisted, email gate, approved domains, password or invitation.

  4. Step 4

    See who came in

Each visit and each tracking link, in the document’s analytics.

Sign-in works with Google, Microsoft Entra ID, LinkedIn and SAML identity providers, and documents embed in your website or intranet. See every integration

Common questions

About sharing confidential documents, attachments, downloads, end dates, SharePoint, sign-in, storage and compliance.

How do I share confidential documents securely?

Send each one as a link behind a password, named invitations or a one-time email code. With any of the three, the document is not sent until the reader passes. Then set an end date, turn off downloads, and use invitations or tracking links to see who opened it.

Is a link safer than an email attachment?

Yes, because a link stays under your control after you send it. An attachment can be forwarded and opened for years. A RELAYTO link opens only for the readers you allow, can end on a date you set or be closed at once, and records every visit. Update the document and everyone sees the new version at the same link.

Can readers download or forward it?

Downloading is off unless you turn it on for that document, and so is a share button for visitors. Anyone can forward a link, but behind a password, an invitation or a one-time email code the next person must pass the same check. No tool can stop someone photographing a screen, so for the most sensitive material use private access with end dates.

Can access expire on a date we set?

Yes. Each invitation and each tracking link can carry its own end date, and access stops that day, person by person. You can also remove anyone at once.

We already use SharePoint or a data room. Where does this fit?

Keep your working files where they are, and use RELAYTO for the copy that leaves the company. The approved version opens as a web page in your brand, behind the way in you choose, as one link or a hub of several documents, and shows you who read it.

Can we use our own single sign-on?

Yes. Your team, and readers of your private content, can sign in through your company’s identity provider, and people who sign in that way for the first time join your workspace automatically. Google, Microsoft and LinkedIn sign-in work without any set-up. A private document or hub opens only for invited people, after each signs in with a RELAYTO account or creates one.

Where is our data stored?

Each workspace’s data is stored in one region, the EU (Ireland) or the United States, chosen when it is set up. The Trust Center at trust.relayto.com names RELAYTO’s subprocessors: AWS, GitHub and Slack.

Which compliance frameworks does RELAYTO meet?

The RELAYTO Trust Center at trust.relayto.com lists SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR, HIPAA and CCPA as compliant, with the policies and controls behind them. Your security team can request access to its documents and send a security questionnaire there.

Which document worries you most?

If it is too sensitive to attach to an email, bring that one. In the demo we set up its way in, and you see the document as your reader will.
